Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) and Chairman of the Kullu Sub-divisional Legal Services Authority Naresh Kumar Thakur presided over a legal awareness camp at Piplage village in this district today.
The CJM said free legal services would be provided to those belonging to the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes, women, children, differently and specially abled, disaster-hit people and those having income less than Rs 1 lakh.
He said these people could avail free legal assistance when required. The application process was also very simple and eligible people should take advantage of this facility, he said.
Senior advocate Dharmender Sharma spoke on legal provisions under the NDPS Act and the ill-effects of drug abuse.
