Indian DJ ranks 33 in international list

Chetas Shah, popularly known as DJ Chetas, has featured in the list of Top 100 DJs for the second time. While he was ranked 59 last year, this time around, he stands at No 33.
He says, ���It feels great. Global agencies that are part of this industry will no longer look at India as a market where they can make their monies and go back. We���ll now be seen as an exporter of talent.I���m glad I���ve been able to touch international audiences through Indian music.���
Chetas, who has completed close to a decade in the profession, notes that the industry has changed over the years. ���Initially, people were hesitant to accept that they love dancing to Bollywood songs. But I���ve been able to develop tracks on which people can groove without being judged. This has also opened up newer avenues for Bollywood DJs,��� he elaborates.
However, success comes with its own set of challenges. ���The industry is not very receptive or friendly. There���s no system to promote in-house talent,��� he adds. Currently busy with original compositions and remakes of old hits, Chetas will soon launch a non-stop dance music show on streaming apps and sites, TV, as well as radio. ���I���m also working on the remixes of a few pop tracks, globally,��� he signs off.
