The Majestic area has a rich history that people who get caught up in the hustle and bustle of their everyday lives forget. However, thanks to the street art festival organized by the St+art India Foundation, a group of artists has come together to provide a tapestry highlighting the changes the area has gone through — from it being a dried-up lake that formed Mysuru’s borders with the British during colonial times, to a parade ground where Nehru gave a speech, to a circus ground, and to the public transport hub we all know today.
Bengaluru artist Appupen, aka George Mathen, and Mumbai artist Sameer Kulavoor have worked at the Majestic Metro Station to bring alive the legends of the area.
