Phil Collins tour
Phil Collins' Not Dead Yet tour will be his first set of live shows in 10 years Live Nation

Phil Collins left viewers worried ahead of next year's batch of comeback shows, after what was described as a "frail" performance on The Jonathan Ross Show.

The 65-year-old Genesis star appeared as a guest to promote his upcoming autobiography Not Dead Yet, in which he details his battle with alcoholism and other struggles.

The multi-award winning frontman also performed Against All Odds (Take A Look At Me Now) on the chat show, after tickets for his first live shows since 2007 sold out in minutes earlier this week.

Fans were left outraged earlier this week, when tickets for the similarly named Not Dead Yet tour quickly sold out, leaving touts charging £2,000 ($2,400) for a seat.

However, viewers and fans alike were left far from convinced by the rendition, with Collins - who now uses a walking stick - heavily clutching the microphone stand and limping around stage due to knee, hip and back injuries caused by years of playing the drums.

Appearing visibly older, the one-time powerhouse equally struggled to deliver the classic ballad with the necessary velocity, noticeably softening the performance and straining for the big notes, with the public responding to the performance on social media.

How on earth is Phil Collins going to do a tour? He barely looked like he coped with singing one song on Jonathan Ross

Hmm. Phil Collins on the Jonathan Ross Show. Looking like his spinal issues are giving him grief. Sounding like he's overdone the morphine.

One user commented that Collins looked "spaced out," while another suggested it could be due to pain relief medication. But not everyone was underwhelmed.

Thankfully, Collins has plenty of time to rediscover his strength before next summer.
