Hyderabad: TRS MLC Mohammed Saleem asked Chief Minister of Telangana Mr. K Chandrasekhar Rao to write a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Law Commission asking them to immediately stop the discussion on sensitive issues like triple Talaq and polygamy.
Sending a letter to Chief Minister, Mr. Saleem requested CM to play important role in assuaging fears of Muslims of the country. Mr. Saleem stated in the letter that the questionnaire issued by Law Commission is seen by the Muslims as indirect interference in Muslim Personal Law issues. He claimed that Indian Constitution allows Muslims to follow their religious laws. Central government’s attempts are sheer violation of rights guaranteed by the constitution, he stated.
