    What about Mr Putin?
Putin’s official 2017 calendar is out.

    A Putin calendar?

Yes. Vladimir calendars are annual traditions now. Shops all over Russia are preparing themselves for this hottest consumer item this Christmas.

What are these calendars all about?

It’s Putin special. Twelve pictures of the Russian prez. So now you can wake up to a ‘candid’ Putin photograph every single day.

    Flamboyant Putin as always!

There’s more of his daredevilflamboyance. He can be seen riding a horse wearing a camouflage jacket, piloting a light plane and posing with war veterans.

True. And as tributes from people of Russia, Putin has a sculpture as a Roman emperor and paintings that depict him as the ancient Greek hero Hercules. Kyrgyzstan has a 4,446 m mountain named Vladimir Putin Peak. Siberian singer Mashani composed a song My Putin. ‘My Putin, my darling Putin, take me away with you, I want to be with you,' she croons.

Putin riding shirtless, Putin getting love songs, Putin by himself… sounds very 007-ish!

You bet. Putin, who is trained in judo and sambo, discovered some ancient Greek urns while diving in the Black Sea in 2011. He's the Russian Indiana Jones already, you see?
