Floyd Central and Providence survived minor bumps and secured sectional volleyball titles Saturday night.

The 14th-ranked Highlanders, who beat No. 12 New Albany in straight sets in the semifinals, got off to a slow start before decking Seymour 26-24, 22-25, 25-21, 25-21 in the Class 4A Jeffersonville Sectional final — their fourth consecutive sectional championship.

Floyd Central (23-12) will visit Castle (29-6) Tuesday night in a one-game regional.

In Class 3A at Brownstown, Providence lost its first postseason set in four years but survived a stiff challenge from Silver Creek 25-13, 26-28, 25-14, 25-22. The win marks the 31st sectional title for the Pioneers. It’s their sixth straight crown.

The second-ranked Pioneers (31-5), shooting for their fourth consecutive state title, will play host to Lawrenceburg (26-10) Tuesday.

Defending Class 1A champion Christian Academy turned in a 3-0 sweep (25-8, 25-11, 25-12) of New Washington Saturday night to clinch another sectional crown.

The Warriors will host Trinity Lutheran on Tuesday. CAI, ranked No. 1 in 1A, improved to 29-6 on the season with the win.

In Class 2A, Paoli won its first sectional title since 2002 by handling Clarksville 25-19, 25-21, 16-25, 25-21.
