MANDYA: A memorandum filed by an RTI activist to Mandya deputy commissioner urges the state government to recover from MLA M H Ambareesh Rs 1.5 crore which had been spent for his medical treatment abroad. The memo was forwarded to the state chief secretary by the district administration for further action.
K R Ravindra, an RTI activist, submitted a memorandum to Mandya DC a month ago, urging the state government to recover the medical expenditure of around Rs 1.5 crore incurred by the government for treatment of Ambareesh at Mount Elizabeth Hospital in Singapore in 2014.
In his memorandum, Ravindra alleged that as an MLA of Mandya assembly segment, Ambareesh had the responsibility as a people's representative but had skipped the special session of the Karnataka legislature to discuss the Cauvery issue in the wake of the Supreme Court's order to release the water to Tamil Nadu.
