DOHA:Qatar Islamic Bank (QIB) has launched a new proposition specifically designed to cater to the financial needs of ladies in appreciation for their role in the Qatari society and as part of the nation’s vision to empower all citizens in the country.
The initiative is part of QIB’s response to the increasingly active social and professional lives that women lead in Qatar. According to a new labour force survey published by the Ministry of Development, Planning and Statistics (MDPS), an estimated 586,030 women are living in Qatar. Of this, around 253,000 are economically active. With this in mind, QIB’s new venture aims to meet the wide-range of financial needs that each modern day woman has.
QIB has 12 dedicated Ladies Banking Centers, strategically located in different places around Qatar, which are open from 7.30am to 1pm. The centres ensure privacy and convenience and clients are served exclusively by female staff. A dedicated call center, served by female call center agents is also providing its services from 8am to 5pm.
Ladies at QIB can now enjoy competitive profit rates on their fixed deposits. They can also achieve their financial goals through obtaining quick and hassle-free finance at preferential profit rates. QIB has also taken into consideration worries that plague women, these including children’s education and personal health concerns.
The Bank’s Walady Education Plan is a Shari’a Compliant child education plan that offers financial security for the child’s education through a long-term savings and investment plan coupled with Takaful protection for the parent.
As part of the new Ladies Banking proposition introduction, the Bank is offering free Takaful coverage for 1-year, covering general and female related risks. Additionally, ladies can also apply for the Family Shield, a family Takaful policy that provides relief in times of distress. Moreover, all women in Qatar can now enjoy motor takaful with preferential rate.
For ladies customers who are Tamayuz members, the Bank’s affluent banking solution, will also be served exclusively by female Relationship managers who will use their extensive financial knowledge to help define their long-term goals, risk tolerance and investment horizons.
“QIB has established itself as one of the leading Banks in Qatar by following a customer centric approach in everything we do. We are committed to constantly evolve our banking services in order to reflect the financial interests of the people in Qatar,” said D Anand, General Manager – QIB’s Personal Banking Group. QIB, on Thursday, had organised an internal Town Hall meeting with all its Ladies Banking Centres employees in order to explain and discuss all the benefits introduced for women in Qatar under the new Ladies Banking proposition. This event is part of a continued dialogue between all QIB employees in order to upgrade the products and services offered to all banking clients in the country.
QIB’s Ladies Centers exist in Al Gharafa Branch, Airport Branch, Salwa Road Branch, Al Sadd Branch, Al Fanar Branch, Al Khor Branch, Al Wakra Branch, Miazar Branch, Um Salal Branch, Al Rayan Branch, Al Shahhaniya Branch and Modern Doha Branch.
