JAMMU, Oct 22: A massive protest demonstration of Anganwadi workers/helpers under the banner of J&K National Trade Union Front was held here today to press the State Govt and Director ICDS Mission to settle the burning demands without further delay.
Hundreds of State Anganwadi workers/helpers assembled at Jammu and raised slogans in support of their demands, urging the State Govt to settle the long pending genuine issues of the most exploited class of lowest paid temporary Anganwadi workers/ helpers. They were demanding their regularization, enhancement of their honorarium and finalization of their long pending seniority list.
While addressing huge protesting workers/helpers, veteran trade union leader Mohammad Gafoor Dar State president J&K National Trade Union Front said that State Govt has miserably failed to address/redress the burning issues of the Anganwadi workers regarding the regularization policy for Anganwadi workers & helpers of ICDS mission.
In such a situation the Anganwadi workers & Helpers are left with no alternative except to intensify the agitation and has declared one day protest/demonstration in front of Divisional Commissioner Office Panama Chowk, Jammu on November 9, 2016 at 11 am. He appealed all Anganwari workers and helpers to participate in the protest on the said date.
The other prominent members of the Front who addressed the protesting workers included Nazir Ahmed Molvi general secretary NTUF, Hanifa Begum, Neelam Parihar, Shakeela Akhter, Ratna Devi and Mehjabeen.
