Traffic police personnel in Gurgaon were provided with body-worn cameras Saturday morning, which will be attached to their uniforms to capture video and audio recordings of traffic violations.
Imported from the UK, these “small and rugged” devices have been obtained by police with CSR support from Honda Scooter and Motorcycles, India, and will be put to use starting Sunday, said a Gurgaon police spokesperson. The cameras can capture video recordings in full HD, with a front-facing colour screen that will ensure members of the public know they are being recorded.
