Onir returns to TV after 22 years

Filmmaker Onir of 'My Brother... Nikhil' fame, who worked as the editor on popular sitcom 'Dekh Bhai Dekh', is returning to the small screen after 22 years and this time as a director. He has shot a promo of 'Pardes Mein Hai Mera Dil', featuring Arjun Bijlani and Drashti Dhami. “The concept of the show, which is about relationships, prompted me to take up the offer. It’s almost like a short film. There is no element of regression,” he replies.
Ask him what kept him away from the small screen and he answers, “Unlike cinema, TV is not a director’s medium.It’s demanding and does not give you the luxury called time. I am not looking down upon the medium, but my shortcoming to not being able to cope with the fast-paced medium.”
