Chhapra: The newly launched heavy commercial driving institution at Aphour under Garkha block of
Saran district has attracted more than 2,000 aspirants. Training of first batch of 130 students enrolled would begin on November 1.
Established under the aegis of Union skill development ministry, this institute was inaugurated by Union minister of road transport and highways Nitin Gadkari last Monday.
Sources in the institute said about 300 aspirants would be admitted in the second batch scheduled to commence from November 2. Only aspirants in the age group of 18-25 are eligible for training.
Smita Malwe of Rise India, a Gurgaon-based organization which has been assigned the responsibility of imparting training, said one month full-term residential training will be free of cost and the candidates would be provided free boarding and lodging by the organization.
Ajay Chhangani, CEO and founder of Rise India, would help the successful drivers in seeking placement with its partners like Tata Motors, JCB and Ola, etc. Talking about the faculties, Ajay said, “Trainers from Delhi, Maharashtra and other places have been chartered.” Some of the local talents would be given opportunity to work as trainers but they would have to attend ‘Train the Trainers’ programme organized by the organization.
This driving school at Chhapra has been first of its kind in Bihar. Smita said some more schools in
Bihar were in the pipeline, including at Gaya, Samastipur, Baniapur (Saran) and
Maharajganj (Siwan). The locations for Gaya and Samastipur have been already identified.
