MUMBAI: All roads will lead to Palghar on Sunday with a massive maratha march planned in the taluka. Marathas from Mumbai, Thane, Vasai-Virar, Palghar, Vikramgad, Jawahar, Mokhada are expected to participate in the silent morcha under the Maratha Kranti Mukh Morcha banner. Timings of trains arriving fom Mumbai to Palghar in time for the march that begins at 1 pm has been circulated through social media.

The Mumbai-Ahmedabad national highway is expected to be jammed with vehicles arriving into Palghar for the morcha. Adequate parking arrangements have been made for vehicles. Last Sunday, October 16, the silent morcha was held in Thane. The community has been holding marches in different districts demanding punishment of culprits in Kopardi rape and murder case, quota in education and government jobs, Amendment in SC, ST (Prevention of Atrocities Act) to stop its misuse, loan waiver to farmers to curb suicides, and guaranteed rate for agricultural produce.
The community members will march to the Palghar Collector's office where a memorandum of their demands will be submitted. Children, men, women, including professionals from various walks of life are expected to participate in the morcha. The community has held several such silent morchas across Maharashtra.
