Amartya's Benaras wins hearts in Greece
Talented young filmmaker Amartya Bhattacharyya whose short film Benars- the unexplored attachment that had won National award for best cinematography has brought laurel for the state again. This film won an international award this time. The film that was screened in the 7th International Short Tourism Film festival of Amorgos at Greece was well appreciated by the jury and audience and won the best film award. Amartya who had scripted, directed, cinematographed and edited the movie said that it’s also being screened at another film festival at New Jersey in US.
The film explored the visual nuances of Benaras- the holiest city of India in the most beautiful way. With a voice over coversation that runs along with the visuals to depict an attachment of a stranger with the city, the film shows everything Benaras under 8 minutes.
