HAM threatens agitation if slum dwellers not rehabilitated

Patna, Oct 22 (UNI) Hindustani Awam Morcha (HAM) today threatened to launch state-wide agitation if Nitish Kumar led Grand Alliance Government did not rehabilitate slum dwellers who were mercilessly thrown out from their houses in barbaric police action during anti-encroachment drive.
State president of HAM and former Minister Brishen Patel, addressing a dharna organised by his party to protest forcible removal of slum dwellers from their houses in Patna, in the name of anti-encroachment drive, said state wide agitation would be launched if the government did not rehabilitate them.
"The rampant corruption prevailing in Grand Alliance Government in Bihar is a major hurdle in execution of various welfare schemes launched for poor and slum dwellers", Mr Patel said adding that huge fund allocated for the purpose, was being siphoned off due to unholy nexus between officials and leaders of ruling parties in the state.
