Manchester United are interested in taking Yaya Toure from Manchester City, according to Calciomercato.

The Ivorian midfielder has barely had a minute of game time since Pep Guardiola took over as manager at the Etihad.

And the latest rumours suggest that Jose Mourinho would take him to Old Trafford on a short-term deal.

The likes of Arsenal, Juventus and Inter Milan have also been linked with a move for the veteran, as well as clubs in China.

While a move to United is extremely unlikely, Toure is due to leave City in the coming months and would be available for a very minimal fee.

Henrikh Mkhitaryan has been left confused after being left out of the Europa League squad, according to The Times.

The Armenian midfielder has struggled to fight his way into Jose Mourinho's plans since his summer move to Manchester United.

But he was reportedly left baffled when he was completed left out of the squad that faced Fenerbahce on Thursday night.

Manager Mourinho claimed that his omission was down to match fitness, but Mkhitaryan is believed to have been left unhappy with the situation.

It was Pogba's "dream" to return

Pogba was back in business with a double for United in the Europa League

Antonio Conte says he believes that it was Paul Pogba's 'dream' to return to Manchester United this summer, writes Mirror Football's Joe Mewis.

The Chelsea boss signed the midfielder from the Red Devils on a free transfer when he was Juventus manager in 2012.

France midfielder Pogba then went on to become one of the most highly-rated players in the game and sealed a £89million return to Old Trafford in the summer.

"He deserves all," said Conte. "I think to come back to Manchester United was his dream. I wish him the best, but only after the game."

Manchester United striker James Wilson has suffered an anterior cruciate ligament injury, writes Robert Cottingham for Mirror Football.

The 20-year-old striker had been on loan at Derby but returned to United to undergo tests after picking up the problem during training on Monday.

And United have confirmed he will now undergo a rehabilitation programme, reports the Manchester Evening News.

"It's a great disappointment for him and for the club as well," United reserves coach Warren Joyce told the club's official website.

"All you can do when you have setbacks is to try to be positive and look to make sure when you do return, it's in the best shape."

Mourinho to remain calm on Chelsea return

There will be no touchline antics at Stamford Bridge

Those expecting customary touchline theatrics and inflammatory gestures from Jose Mourinho on his return to Chelsea will be left disappointed, writes Mirror Football's David McDonnell.

There will be no knee-slide or overt celebration if Manchester United score, no putting his fingers to his lips to quieten the opposing fans and no squaring up to opposite number Antonio Conte.

"If you ask me if my team score a goal am I going to celebrate like a crazy kid?" said Mourinho. "No. No. I think I can control the emotion of that situation.

"Am I going to have a negative reaction if the crowd has something negative with me? No. I think, again, I have enough maturity to control the emotion. I have lots of respect.

"What Manchester United fans can expect from me is more important. What they can expect from me is to play against Chelsea the same way I play against Fenerbahce, Liverpool or anyone, because that is my job."

Jose: Roman was NEVER my friend

Jose Mourinho and Roman Abramovich
Mourinho and Abramovich had simply a professional relationship

Jose Mourinho turned up the heat ahead of his return to Chelsea by insisting he and billionaire owner Roman Abramovich were never friends, writes Mirror Football's David McDonnell.

Abramovich appointed Mourinho in 2004, with the Portuguese becoming the most successful boss in the Blues' history before leaving abruptly in 2007.

The Special One was rehired three years ago for a second spell at Stamford Bridge and led the Londoners to a third Premier League title the following season.

But it all unravelled last season, as Mourinho was sacked by Abramovich and the Chelsea board, with the champions in 16th spot, just one spot above the relegation places.

Against that backdrop and ahead of his potentially explosive return to Chelsea for the first time since his dismissal, the 53-year-old insisted he was never close to Abramovich.

“He was never my friend,” said Mourinho. “We always had the relationship of owner-manager, a very respectful relationship.

“We were never friends. We were never close to each other. So, no. He’s just a person that I keep very respected.”
