Ferrari in dowry, wife takes husband to thana

BHOPAL: Ferrari dream of husband lands 25 years old Sadaf Rahim Ali, a physiotherapist by profession from Tulsi nagar at Mahila Thana. Ali in her FIR against, husband Sayed Mehmood Ali, 27 registered on Thursday night has alleged that, he has been asking for a brand new Ferrari along with Rs 10 lakhs as dowry, since they have got married.
In one of the weird cases registered in Mahila Thana, this case came as a shocker and Sayed’s love for Ferrari has been linked to his profession in Saudi Arabia, where owning a lavish red car is a status symbol for everyone.
“He has been continuously asking for Ferrari as dowry from me, along with the hefty amount to retain our marriage,” said Sadaf in her complaint to Mahila Thana officials, after which the case under section 498 A of Indian Penal code was registered.
According to her application, she alleged that, since very next day of marriage, Sayed started to taunt her that, if he would have married somewhere else, they were ready to give Ferrari as dowry. Thereafter the case of domestic violence and maintenance was registered against the family.
Sadaf from Tulsi Nagar was married to Sayed Ali, in January 2015, who has his native residence in Lalghati, but works in Saudi Arabia in a private firm.
Talking about the case, Mahila Thana TI, Sandhya Mishra said, “There case was already registered at Family counselling centre here and they have been going under counselling for patch up. A case in court is also being heard regarding harassment and domestic violence.”
Sadaf and Sayed first reached in family counselling centre in May 2015, where they were going under counselling for the reason that, Sayed’s family has counter alleged that, Sadaf has been asking him to leave his parents and live separately and when he refused, the matter was taken to court.
Now suddenly after over 1 year of the case being considered already, on Thursday evening Sadaf along with her parents landed at Mahila Thana and got the case registered for dowry harassment against Sayed and his parents.
About the action Sandhya Mishra said, “Currently Sayed is in Bhopal only and has been visiting here due to case hearings. We will be calling him for investigation of this matter too at Mahila Thana first.”
