GUWAHATI: Election to the
Deori Autonomous Council (DAC) and the Thengal Kachari Autonomous Council (TKAC) will be held on November 16.

HN Bora on Friday said all efforts would be made to ensure free and fair polls. "The model code of conduct comes to force with immediate effect," he said here on Friday.
The last date of filing nomination is October 28. The nomination papers will be scrutinized on October 31 and the list of valid candidates will also be declared on the same day.
Candidates can withdraw their names till November 2 when the final list will be declared.
Polling for the DAC and TKAC will take place from 8 am to 4 pm in 100 and 152 polling stations, respectively. Counting will take place on November 21.
Bora said there are 18 constituencies in DAC and 22 constituencies in TKAC. Two constituencies in each council -
Tengapani and
Kinapathar constituencies in DAC and Titabar and
Gelabil constituencies in TKAC - have been reserved for women belonging to scheduled tribes.
