HYDERABAD: TRS
Lok Sabha member
K Kavitha on Friday said "when it comes to patriotism, tokenism will not work." Responding to a question in the wake of the controversy over casting of Pakistani actors in Indian movies, Kavitha added that
Bollywood needs to understand why political parties were not in favour of casting Pakistani actors.
"There are Nepali actors and actors from other countries who have been working here for long.
Their presence has never been opposed. I believe when
Pakistan is time and again striking at our country, when sports personalities are boycotting playing with Pakistan, Bollywood must stand with the country," she said. On the issue of surgical strikes carried out by Indian armed forces on terror camps in Pakistan, Kavitha said this was something that should not be politicised.
