Clinton has 16-to-1 fundraising edge in Massachusetts
Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton has a 16-to-1 fundraising edge over Republican Donald Trump in Massachusetts.
Recently filed Federal Election Commission reports show Clinton has raked in more $16.6 million from Bay State backers. That's far ahead of the more than $1.1 million raised by GOP presidential nominee Donald Trump.
Overall contributions to Democratic candidates have far outpaced donations to Republicans in Massachusetts.
Of the $28.7 million donated from Massachusetts residents to all presidential candidates throughout the election, $24.6 million has gone to Democrats, while $3.9 million has gone to Republicans.
Libertarian candidate Gary Johnson has raised nearly $138,000 in Massachusetts. Green Party candidate Jill Stein, a resident of Lexington, has raised $34,000.
Massachusetts places fifth on the list of top donor states, behind California, New York, Texas and Florida.
