Lady Gaga – “A-YO”
As Lady Gaga strips away her reputed eccentric outfits, her vibrant hairstyles and her recorded voice’s characteristic auto-tune treatment, we’re left with what feels like a genuine persona best described as Joanne. “A-Yo” — off her fifth studio album out today (Oct. 21) — is a testament that in this new era of the iconic singer, she isn’t solely here to show off her chops as a veteran vocalist, but is more so interested in creating a variety of moments to get lost in. This song’s a menacingly catchy anthem that sets the mood Gaga’s here to play as much as she isn’t playing around this time.
Michael Bublé – “Someday” featuring Meghan Trainor
Grammy award-winning Canadian singer Michael Bublé’s ninth studio offering is out today and features a vulnerability the jazz crooner hasn’t exactly explored before: the power of collaborative songwriting. “Someday” was the decorated musician’s first time recording an original song that he didn’t write. Recruiting Meghan Trainor and Harry Styles for the track, Bublé shared that his intention was to set his ego aside and do what is best for the record. The song also is one of three originals, with the rest of the album comprised of covers. Praising Trainor as “the most talented 21-year-old in the world,” the pair harmonize as if they’ve been collaborating since the very beginning. As the two interchange their vocals in a bit of a nod to doo-wop, “Someday” makes for an innocent and oh-so-sweet love song, triggering the hopeless romantic inside all of us.

His mystical collaborative track with Erykah Badu is an incredible merging of styles, with sultry production strengthened by psychedelic electric guitars. While not many can do what Badu does, D.R.A.M. effortlessly proves he vibes organically with her captivating vocals and cosmic tendencies. The whimsical pairing of D.R.A.M. and the legendary singer is destined to win over those digesting his debut project, Big Baby D.R.A.M., available today (Oct. 21) via Empire and Atlantic Records.

As a storied producer, the 34-year-old has a knack for cinematic storytelling through a plethora of genres, with “Not Easy” being no exception to his impressive catalog. The track is a bit somber by nature, but that doesn’t take away from its undeniable, heartfelt beauty. “Not Easy” highlights perseverance while also honoring the good times that once were.
