Need to boost investments between Kuwait-India: Al Awadi – ‘Relations witness tremendous improvements’

NEW DELHI, Oct 21, (KUNA): Kuwait Ambassador to India Fahad Ahmad Al-Awadi urged Thursday to intensify trade and investment between India and Kuwait while addressing a symposium in the leading international school at the Jawahrlal Nehru University in New Delhi.

Ambassador Al-Awadi told a gathering of students, professors, former civil servants, and political observers that the India-Kuwait relation has witnessed tremendous improvement in the last few years as the Kuwaiti investment made through the Kuwait Investment Authority witnessed exponential rise. He added that the related authorities are continuously working to further improve such economic relations.

The ambassador cited the increase in the Kuwaiti investment from $1.027 million in 2002 to 3.3 billion in 2015 to substantiate his view that Kuwait is giving due importance to the Indian economy and underlined the fact that the ease of doing business in India has tremendously improved. However, he turned the attention of the participants to the huge potential available in various fields to further deepen ties and mutual exchange in the economic and investment sectors.

The symposium titled ‘Contemporary Kuwait and India- Kuwait Relations’ organized by the Gulf Studies Programme (GSP) at the West Asian Studies in the International School of JNU saw participation of the GSP head Aftab Kamal Pasha along with a number of leading personalities, professors and students.
