Haridwar: Delhi Public School (DPS), Agra, defeated DPS, Moradabad, 32-0 in the North Zone- III Inter-DPS Basketball Girls’ Championship that commenced at DPS, Ranipur, on Friday.
DPS, Ranipur, drubbed DPS, Meerut, 50-0, in the second match of the day.
A total of 10 teams from various Delhi Public Schools from Agra, Allahabad, Bareilly, Dehradun, Lucknow, Meerut, Moradabad, Roorkee, Saharanpur and Ranipur are taking part in the championship.
Inaugurating the championship, principal KC Pandey said, “Sport is an integral part of education as it enhances mental, physical well-being and fosters team spirit.”
Akums Pharma, SIDCUL, AGM-BHEL director Atul Saxena, who was the chief guest on the occasion, inaugurated the championship while host team captain Asmita Vadhwa hoisted the flag.
BHEL Township AGM Atul Saxena, ITC’s Arun Raghav, BHEL Rajendra Kumar, senior DGM communications Rakesh Maniktala, Hindustan Lever’s Digivijay Sharma and Vidya Mandir Sector-5 principal Rajnikant Shukla were present at the inaugural ceremony. — TNS
