Justin Bieber made headlines this week by scolding fans for being too noisy during his concert, instructing them to “take a chill pill.” In a video posted by TMZ, from his concert in the U.K. on Thursday night, Bieber tried (and failed) once more to have a deep conversation with his audience while they continued to scream.
He began by explaining the Purpose Tour’s name — “I believe everybody in this building has a purpose” — and continued to offer inspirational commentary to the crowd. As he noticed the increasingly loud screams, he extended the mic to the audience: “Do you want to take it?”

“I just thought I could have a moment of trying to say something,” he continued. “But if not, I’ll just get to singing if you guys don’t want to hear me speak. I don’t mind cutting the bullsh–. I don’t need to talk. I’m just trying to engage.” He then walked toward the back of the stage, but not before making one final statement: “This is my purpose.”
