Smriti Nandan is presenting the ‘30th Devnandan Ubhayaker Yuva Sangeet Utsav’ on October 22 and 23. Founded by late Lalita Ubhayaker, a vocalist of the Agra gharana and a philanthropist, the Utsav presents young promising classical musicians who are disciples of great gurus of the Hindustani tradition. The opening performance will be a shehnai presentation by Hassan Haider Khan, disciple of sitar maestro Pandit Arvind Parekh and Ustad Ali Ahmad Hussain Khan who will present their performance. This will be followed by a dhrupad vocal recital by Pelva Naik, disciple of legendary dhrupad maestro Ustad Zia Fariduddin Dagar and Ustad Bahauddin Dagar of the Dagar gharana.

The Sunday morning concert will feature a sarod recital by Amir Khan, disciple of legendary sarangi exponent, Padmashree Late Ustad Abdul Latif Khan and famous sarod exponent Late Ustad Rehmat Ali Khan. The concluding performance will be a vocal recital by Hemang Mehta, disciple of Sri Chandrasekhar Swamy and Pandit Jasraj.

Tabla accompaniment is by Shrivatsa Koulgi, disciple of Pandit Veeranna Kaamkar; Shouri Shanbhog, disciple of Pandit Udayraj Karpoor; and Mysore P Ashwin, disciple of Pandit Vishwanath A Nakod.
