FRANKLIN LAKES, N.J., Oct. 21 (UPI) -- A young deer's quest for knowledge led to a difficult search for an escape route when it ended up trapped in the lobby of a New Jersey high school.

The deer was seen Friday morning bouncing off the walls of the lobby at Ramapo High School in Franklin Lakes after it somehow got into the building.

A student named Melanie captured a short video of the disoriented deer trying to find an exit and posted the footage to Twitter.

Police said the deer was eventually able to get out of the building and return to the wild. An officer said the animal had some blood on its mouth that likely resulted from crashing into walls, but it did not seem to be seriously injured.
