PATNA: Police arrested one Brajesh Kumar Singh (30) and recovered 30 passports from his possession, from Raghunathpur market under the Raghunathpur police station area in Siwan on Friday.
Raghunathpur police station SHO Saroj Kumar said Brajesh used to work as an agent for arranging visa and other necessary documents for the unemployed wishing to go to Gulf countries to earn a living.

“Brajesh had an office in UP’s Gorakhpur. He collected lakhs of rupees from 80-odd aspirants and downed the shutters of his office. He vanished into thin air with passports of several youths,” the SHO said.
Several youths on Friday reached Raghunathpur market after they were informed by Brajesh to collect their passports on payment of Rs 1,000 each. He allegedly upped the demand to Rs 5,000 each when the youths reached there. Irate youths then thrashed Brajesh after which he was arrested, the SHO said.
The seized passports belonged to youths from Mau, Deoria and Azamgarh in UP. A native of Amhara under the Raghunathpur police station area, Brajesh is alleged to have taken Rs 30,000 each from the youths on the pretext of arranging their visas.
