Will Ferrell and The Rock are two of the biggest stars in the world. One of them literally. And now they are teaming up to produce a pilot for Fox set behind the scenes of the professional wrestling world, according to Variety. Though I can't imagine why. I wonder if one of them has some unknown connection to the material...

If you thought this was just an excuse to post old Rock promos... You'd be right. Goddammit, was he good on the mic.

Anyway, the pilot will be written by Andrew Gurland who wrote the very underrated Married for FX and is described like so:

"The series offers a behind-the-scenes look at a fictional professional wrestling outfit and chronicles the one-of-a-kind odd couple relationship that develops between a charismatic young character, like the The Rock, and a painfully awkward comedy writer new to the world of wrestling. A fish-out-of-water among all of these alpha males, this beta former sitcom writer needs as much help as he can get navigating the extremely passionate, sometimes crazy and always unpredictable world of professional wrestling"

Getting a behind the scenes look at the professional wrestling world would be interesting enough, but with The Rock's unique perspective on that world, this seems primed to be a fascinating look at a fascinating world.
