Central government funds chair proposed to to be set up at IKGPTU

JALANDHAR: As I.K.Gujral Punjab Technical University Kapurthala hosted National Seminar on the topic “Economic Development-Dr. Ambedkar Vision” on Friday Minister of State Vijay Sampla announced that Central Government would establish and fund Dr. Ambedkar Chair in the University after submission of proposal by IKGPTU.
This was the 6th seminar in the series of various events which are being organized by a special committee of Punjab Government to celebrate 125th birth anniversary of Dr Ambedkar.The renowned thinkers and intellectuals from all over India participated in this event to venerate and share the vision and teachings of Baba Saheb.
Arjun Singh Meghwal, Minister of State for Finance of Corporate Affairs was the Chief Guest on the occasion. He started his address by interacting with students about life and philosophy of Dr Amnedkar. The Keynote address on the seminar was delivered by Punjab assembly speaker Charanjit Singh Atwal who shared Dr Ambedkar’s economic vision while discussing his book " The Problem of Rupee: its Origin and its Solution."
Phagwara MLA Som Parkash and Punjab SC Commission chairman Rajesh Bagha also addressed the function.
