Queen Letizia showed that she can master day and night in her royal style, attending The Princess of Asturias Awards in a conservative dress the day after she bared skin for the XXV Musical Week closing concert with husband King Felipe VI.

The 44-year-old monarch was the centre of attention during today's event (21 October) in, Oviedo where she and Felipe met esteemed laureates including Mexican politician Patricia Espinosa, US writer Richard Ford and photojournalist James Nachtwey, among others.

Letizia oozed elegance upon arrival at the Reconquista Hotel in the northern Spanish city, rocking a vibrant white dress adorned with a red contemporary floral print. It featured black piping to give the long-sleeved dress a more structured feel, and highlight her super svelte waist with its cinched-in cut. The mother-of-two accessorised with a pair of suede red heels and wore a sparkly pair of gemstone earrings to complete the look.

The Spanish queen appeared in high spirits for the daytime awards ceremony, along with a cheerful Felipe, who looked dapper in a pinstripe suit paired with a light pink shirt and blue tie.

Letizia looked a stark contrast from the evening prior to the awards, where she stepped out in a form-fitting black dress by her go-to fashion designer Felipe Varela. The queen is one of the least style-restrained royals across the globe, and wowed in the little black number that she teamed with a statement diamante-adorned waist belt, also by Varela, and crimped hair with a black glittery clip for a 90s feel.

Already famous for her slight figure, Letizia showcased her extremely lithe and muscular arms for the musical concert, also in Oviedo, as she stood tall in a pair of towering stilettos and a chic satin clutch bag.

On both occasions, the royal couple looked more loved up than ever as they laughed and shared several moments, holding hands at the Principe Felipe Auditorium. The event was part of The Princess of Asturias Awards – which is a series of annual prizes awarded by The Princess of Asturias Foundation to individuals, entities or organisations who make notable achievements in sciences, humanities and public affairs.

Though the couple's two daughters – Princesses Leonor and Sofia – were not present at either event, the little girls have been making more public appearances with their parents in recent times, joining them at the National Military Parade last week.
