District level committee formed for the execution of Jal Kranti abhiyan

KOZHIKODE: A district level committee has been formed for the effective execution of Jal kranti abhiyan project of the Union Ministry of Water Resources. The committee was formed at a meeting chaired by deputy collector B Abdul Nasar here the other day. The committee will prepare projects to resolve water scarcity at various local body limites in the district. The formed committee will also accord sanctions to various drinking water projects.The meeting also selected Koorachundu and Thiruvanambai grama panchayats that have been experiencing severe water scarcity as jal grams during the occasion. The committee will also take up projects such as rain water harvesting, review of various grama panchayat level projects taking up with the financial assistance of state and central government aids. Nodal officer K Balakrishnan, PAU project director P Raveendran attended the meeting.
