Kevin Love wonders where players put their mouthguards when they come off the floor

Kevin Love spoke to GQ about mouthguards and reminded us that NBA players don’t have all the answers about why NBA players do the things that NBA players do, like chew on mouth guards. He also pointed out a super gross thing to think about when you see players take out their mouthguards.

From GQ:

Q: As a mouthguard expert, why do you think Steph Curry chews his mouthguard so much? Bad fit? Not a good mouth guard. What’s the deal? People need to know.

A: No, I don’t know if it’s a bad fit. Guys just have their nervous tics. Blake Griffin does the same thing. You’ll see me do it every once in a while. I’m always more curious about where guys will stuff their mouth guard when they come off to the bench. Will they put it back in the case? Will they put it in their socks? Will they put it in their spandex? What will they do?

It’s a good question. One option Love forgot to mention: Throwing it into the crowd.
