LUCKNOW: After calling MNS leaders as `goondas', former Supreme court judge Markandey Katju on Friday came out lashing at India's surgical strikes. ``India caught them (Pakistan) unaware but now they are on guards. The surgical strikes were like slapping someone while he is fast asleep. The superpower China is with Pakistan and supplying arms ammunitions to it.
Waging a war will be an expensive thing for India," Katju said while addressing students at IIT-Kanpur's mega cultural fest, Antaragni.
Continuing with his earlier tweet on MNS chief Bal Thackarey a goonda, Katju said, ``I have never seen more brazen goondas than Bal Thackeray and Raj Thackeray. They are rascals of first order, who deserve to be shot. And imagine our Prime Minister Manmohan Singh paid condolence to a goonda on his demise."
Talking on social and political scenario of India, Katju reiterated his earlier stand that the two nation theory responsible for India's Partition is ``bogus''. ``It is superficial to say Hindus and Muslims have a different style of worshipping and hence they are separated. The real reason is that western powers were and are determined to not become India a modern industrial giant,'' Kathy said.
For Katju, Pakistan is no country. ``I regard all Pakistanis as Indians,'' he said. He continued, ``entire Kashmir population is deadly hostile to Indians including politicians."
Targetting Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal, Katju said, he is a total fraud. He also targetted Mahatma Gandhi calling him, `an objectively British agent's, who preached Hinduism and divided the Hindus and Muslims. ``For 30 years, Gandhi set his own house (India) on fire, and then sprinkled water by propagating communal peace and prosperity. It's rubbish that Gandhi got independence to our country, " said he.
On a question put up by a student on reservation, Katju said, it's true that Dalits were marginalised. But it's high time that they should stand on their own feet. In fact, they should join hands with Brahmins, the elite and enlightened people. ``I am of the view that all reservations, caste and gender should be scrapped. OBC reservation is a total fraud," said Katju.
