Budget allocation to Defence insufficient: Kholi

Kochi, Oct 21 (UNI) Stressing the need for focusing more on indigenous production of defence equipment, Financial Advisor to Defence Ministry Sunil Kumar Kholi today said that the budget allocation to it was very meagre.
Speaking after Commissioning Coast Guard Ships of Aryaman and Athulya here, he said ''although defence looks large volume, because of the share in size and breath of the country, the budget looks very less.''
He said even pension budget is Rs 82,000 crore which is not sufficient and I have asked the Defence Ministry to raise to a lakh crore for pension project,'' he said, pointing out that the budget allocation to the defence was insufficient.
