ISM US box office collection: Puri Jagannadh's film gets bigger opening than Kalyan Ram's Pataas

Puri Jagannadh's ISM has received a fantastic opening response at the US box office in the premiere shows and it is likely to make a better collection than that of Nandamuri Kalyan Ram's Pataas in the country.

The Nandamuri Kalyan Ram and Aditi Arya-starrer was premiered in 74 screens across North America on Thursday night. Having good advance booking, the movie registered a decent amount of occupancy in the preview show. Early estimates show that ISM collected $44,722 at the US box office in the premiere shows and the final number is expected to surpass $50,000 mark.

A post on the official Twitter handle of Cine Galaxy read this morning: "#ISM Good Premiere Talk & collected $33,205 as of 11 PM. Puri's pen power & @NANDAMURIKALYAN best performance entertains with supporting JB." Later, they added, "#ISM collected $44,722 from 74 screens for premieres in USA."

Puri Jagannadh's brand value, the huge fan base of Nandamuri family overseas and the movie's superb promos had generated a lot of demand for the international theatrical rights of ISM. Cine Galaxy, which has earlier distributed Nannaku Prematho, Bhale Bhale Magadivoy, Manam, Kabali, 24 and Theri, acquired its rights paying a record price.

The producers of ISM were successfully delivered the discs of the movie to the international markets three days in advance and the bosses of Cine Galaxy ‏confirmed the news on its Twitter handle on October 17. They tweeted: "#ISM - Content uploaded to USA this morning & shows will be on time. Thanks to production@NTRArtsOfficial for delivering the content on time."

Cine Galaxy booked around 76 screens in North America, released the schedule list of its screening and also made ticket booking available well in advance. The bosses of the house wrote: "#ISM - Bookings opened. $12 ticket price including premieres and releasing with English Subtitles. Enjoy this high budgeted powerful intense action drama, on the big screen near you. Puri and Kalyan guarantee the entertainment! Final theaters list at."

They also released a list of theatres which are offering discounts on advance booking. The tweeted a poster featuring the list and wrote: "#ISM pre-booking offers ($4 off regular ticket price) by following theaters. In theaters from this Thursday evening. Grab it!"
