book about the local cuisine of Gorontalo, northern Sulawesi, is among the best-selling and award-winning books displayed at the prestigious Oct. 19-23 Frankfurt Book Fair in Germany.
The 136-page book titled Trailing the Taste of Gorontalo consists of tales about the culinary experience in Gorontalo. The book was published by the Omar Niode Foundation, a nonprofit organization focusing on local cuisine, education and agriculture.
“We thank Edouard Cointreau, founder and president of the Gourmand Award, who invited us to take part in the book fair,” said Amanda Niode, chairperson of the Omar Niode Foundation, in a release on Thursday.
The Frankfurt Book Fair is being participated in by 7,100 exhibitors from 100 countries with visitors expected to reach 275,000 people.
The book fair has a dedicated a space called the Gourmet Gallery, where people interested in food can share their experiences with others from around the world.
In May, Trailing the Taste of Gorontalo won Best in the World — Gourmand World Cook Book Award 2015 from Asian Books in the Asian Cuisine category.
