Entertainment » OtherPosted at: Oct 21 2016 1:14PM NEC advised NE states to promote high-value agri activitiesAgartala, Oct 21 (UNI) Regional planning body, North Eastern Council (NEC), has advised northeastern states to focus more on promoting high-value agricultural produces for niche markets and enhancing the economy based on primary sector.Agriculture minister of Tripura Aghore Debbarma, referring NEC advisory, said here today that because of transportation bottleneck it is difficult for northeastern states to compete with other regions outside with any kind of products and produces.Referring to the statement made by NEC secretary Ram Muivah on the sidelines of recently held conference on agriculture-horticulture entrepreneurship in NE, Mr Debbarma said, "Given the prohibitive transportation cost in the North East, we cannot compete everywhere.
