Siddhanth Kapoor who plays Dawood Ibrahim in Apoorva Lakhia's Haseena Parkar biopic spent several months prepping up for the role by watching films on the Mumbai underworld and reading up on the don.While he watched Shootout at Lokhandwala, Once Upon a Time Mumbaai and Black Friday to learn more about the Mumbai underworld, S Hussain Zaidi's Dongri To Dubai offered him insights into Dawood's personality.
The 32-yearold actor kicked off shooting with a special number at a Mumbai studio on October 11.
'The song is called 'Bantai' and features Dawood and his gang celebrating the latter's ascent in the crime world. Siddhanth is a natural dancer so he didn't have to rehearse much and wrapped it up in two days,' informs a source close to the development.

The film which chronicles Dawood's sister Haseena's life in the 1980s has been styled by Eka Lakhani who has given him bellbottoms, a retro hairstyle and a beard. 'The song showcases a younger Dawood and Siddhanth is wearing black lenses in the song.He has light, hazel eyes as opposed to Dawood's,' Siddhanth has worked particularly hard to perfect his Mumbaiyya accent. His character ages from 19 to 45. 'On Saturday, he will fly out to Thailand for a week to shoot for the second schedule which has portions of him as Dawood in his mid30s.

Siddhanth's real-life sister Shraddha who takes on the titular role is expected to join the cast in early December. The film throws light on Haseena's quick rise in the underworld as she deftly navigates slum redevelopment authorities, overseas rights of Hindi films, the Hawala racket and the territorial wars among cable operators.
