Foetus in ice box at Sawai Man Singh Hospital creates panic

A foetus was found packed in ice box at Sawai Man Singh (SMS) Hospital creating panic late on Wednesday night.Police registered a case against unidentified persons and investigating the matter.

JAIPUR: A foetus was found packed in ice box at Sawai Man Singh (SMS) Hospital creating panic late on Wednesday night. Police registered a case against unidentified persons and investigating the matter.
Some unidentified persons left the box near emergency unit's stairs. Passers-by spotted the box and informed the police chowki at SMS Hospital.
The police have found some registration card of Sanganeri Hospital belonged to a woman.
"A woman's name was mentioned on the registration card. The persons, who have left the ice box, might have forgotten to take out the registration card of the hospital before leaving it at the hospital," Vinod Kumar, investigating officer, Moti Doongri police station said.
He said that they have sought the help of Mahila Chikitsalaya at Sanganeri Gate. "We have asked the hospital to provide each and every detail regarding the woman, who had undergone treatment in the hospital," Kumar said.
Police claimed that the fetus found in the ice box could be 4-month old.
The police have lodged the case under section 318 of IPC for concealment of birth by secret disposal of body.
The registration card of the hospital might lead to getting closer to the accused left the fetus in SMS hospital. "The hospital is gathering information and we will act on it," Kumar said.
