43 injured in bee attack

As many as 43 people were injured when they were attacked by a swarm of bees while attending a cremation.The incident occurred in a village under Kartala forest range of Korba district.

BILASPUR: As many as 43 people were injured when they were attacked by a swarm of bees while attending a cremation. The incident occurred in a village under Kartala forest range of Korba district.
All the injured were rushed to a community health centre where they were given treatment. Conditions of the injured was stated to be stable and out of danger. According to information about 250 residents of village Pharaswani under Kartala forest range of Korba district were attending a cermation in the village on Tuesday.
As the pyre was lit, smoke from it disturbed a bee hive on a nearby tree.
Soon the bees swarmed on people attending the funeral. This resulted in a stampede and people began running helter-skelter.
