The Agriculture Department will give certified wheat seed to farmers at 50 per cent subsidy. The farmers who will purchase the seed from certified companies can apply for subsidy by October 25.
The amount will be deposited into their bank accounts, said Rajesh Sharma, Chief Agriculture Officer, Fatehgarh Sahib.
He said farmers having 2.5 to 5 acres could apply for subsidy. The forms are available in the department offices or can be downloaded from www.agripb.gov.in.
He said permits would be issued to eligible farmers from October 26 to November 5.
CM announces 50% subsidy on shrimp production
Chandigarh: Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal today announced a subsidy of 50 per cent to give further boost to shrimp production in the state.
A decision to this effect was taken by Badal while presiding over a meeting with progressive fish farmers and fishery experts here this morning.
The Chief Minister asked the progressive farmers to set up shrimp producers' society with fair representation of fish farmers, experts of fishery from Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University and officials from the state Fisheries Department to enhance shrimp production on scientific lines.
