Unexploded WW2 mortar discovered in Somerset pond

An unexploded mortar, thought to be from World War Two, has been discovered in a pond in Somerset.

Police were alerted to the "small live device" at about 12:00 BST by a workman who found it off the B3139 near Emborough.

Bomb disposal experts attended the scene at about 16:30 BST and carried out a controlled explosion.

A road between the B3139 and Turner's Court Lane was closed until the device was made safe.
