PILIBHIT: The union minister for women and child development
Maneka Gandhi on Thursday inaugurated three newly constructed Aanganwadi centers in her home constituency on Thursday. These centers were constructed under ICDS (
Integrated Child Development Scheme). AImed at providing value based education along with nutritious food for underpriveldged children, and vocational training for rural women, the centre is earthquake resistant and has been built with the latest architectural designs and technology.
“We are in an agreement with a private group,
Vedanta Group, to develop 4,000 such anganwadi centres across the country. This partnership will help in encouraging more private firms to join hands with the government to solve crucial isues related to child and women devlopment, among other things,” said Gandhi.
“The prime focus in these aanganwadi centers will be laid on the physical, psychological and social development of the child,” said
Anil Agarwal, president of Vedanta Group.
The centres would provide round the clock supply of electricity and pure drinking water through solar panels and RO (Reverse Osmosis) water purifiers. The healthcare of children as well as the rural women would be supported by mobile medical units while their e-learning in a stimulating environment would be taken care on priority.
