F.R.I.E.N.D.S never phased away from our minds and hearts, let alone our souls; and every now and then we are awed, mesmerised by how brilliant those 10 years were.
Remember in August, we all rejoiced an Indian classical music cover of the show’s title track? Yes, the theme song by The Rembrandts we have clutched our hearts and sang along merrily. The Indian classical spin on ‘I’ll be there for you’, by Mahesh Raghavan, a music composer from the University of Edinburgh who is known for making mesmerising versions of popular tracks, had come up with the desi version of the song and it did not disappoint us.
Well, the beautiful rendition has found itself a dancing version too. And we have to say, nothing beats this classical combination of music and dance, a perfect way to celebrate the friendship of our all-time favourite friends — Monica, Ross, Rachel, Joey, Phoebe and Chandler.
A group of four dancers – Akshaya Balan, Raksha Rai, Akkshita Suresh and Gayathri Sivadas have beautifully performed the classical spin off using Bharatnatyam moves. The graceful dancers in pink kameez and colourful Patiala pants have left an everlasting impression on our hearts. The group called the Raga have been taking such Indian renditions of Western songs and series cover and performing with Indian touch.
The video was posted by Bollywoodshakes on their Facebook page has been liked so much that people have started making plans to perform it at their Friends’ weddings. As the Facebook post has over 4,000 shares and over 4.5 lakh views, at time of writing, the group’s Youtube channel too has over 21,000 views.
