Here comes another generous donation by the "Descendants of the Sun" actor Song Joong-Ki. The 31-year-old Hallyu star has been revealed to have given 20 million won ($17,700) to a charity group that is providing welfare and support to the Korean comfort women.

On Oct. 20, Thursday, it was revealed that "The Innocent Man" actor recently donated 20 million won to the Nanum House Comfort Women charity group, which will be used as in helping the victims of sexual slavery during World War II. His charitable actions were revealed when the foundation decided to announce it.

"We received a generous donation of 20 million won under the name Song Joong-ki on Tuesday," a representative told The Kpop Herald. "We asked his agency and they said it was, in fact, actor Song Joong-ki who donated. At first, when we asked, the agency didn't even know. He tried to donate secretly."

It is worth noting that this is not the first time for the Hallyu star to take part in charitable acts. In early March, it was revealed that Song has been secretly making donations to the Korean Childhood Leukemia Foundation (KCLF) since 2011.

Through the money he has donated anonymously, more than 10 children with cancer have already received treatments. He had also donated around 100 million won ($88,683) to the victims of the recent Nepal earthquake through UNICEF.

In early May, Song generously gave a portion of his "2016 Asian Tour Fan Meeting" proceeds to an unspecified charity. It is intended to help the area affected by the earthquake in Wenchuan, West Sichuan, China.

Further, the "Sungkyunkwan Scandal" star donated his entire talent fee for appearing on a Chinese variety TV show, "Hurry Up, Brother," to an unnamed charity. His agency, Blossom Entertainment, did not reveal the amount of money he donated nor the name of the charity.

Meanwhile, Song is set to make his big-screen comeback in "Battleship Island," an upcoming historical film directed by Ryoo Seung-Wan, The Kpop Buddy has learned. He is set to play a Korean freedom fighter, Park Moo-Young, who is on a covert mission to rescue an important colleague in Gunkanjima Island.

"Battleship Island" also stars Hwang Jung-Min, So Ji-Sub, and Lee Jung-Hyun. It is expected to hit theaters in early 2017.
