'Persona 5' Rated By ESRB As Mature; Blood, Nudity And Drugs Included, But Why No Troy Barker?

While "Persona 5" isn't going to be officially out for the rest of the world to enjoy until February next year, those who religiously follow the ESRB guidelines may find it somewhat cringe-worthy, but hardcore fans may have something else to say. Also, famous voice actor for almost every video game Troy Barker isn't present in the line up.

Just a couple of days ago, Persona Central reported that the game "Persona 5" will be rated as "M" for Mature rating for containing every aspect that makes a game well-suited for mature audiences.

These are the following content:

  • Drug Reference
  • Blood
  • Sexual Themes
  • Strong Language
  • Violence
  • and possibly more

For the record, "Persona 5" is the 7th "Persona" game in the series that gets this rating. "Persona 4," "Persona 4," and "Persona Q" are the other titles that also garnered the rating. This probably isn't something new with "Persona 5," but what might bother some is the drug reference.

A heads up for the newcomers, the "Persona" series, even from the first titles, always had the knack of featuring these types content and goes beyond. In fact, it already presents itself as disturbing sometimes, especially the suicide-style "invokers" from "Persona 3."

In other news, since the line up of voice actors were already released, Troy Barker, surprisingly for a lot of fans, wasn't included in any of the characters. Instead, the lead protagonist's voice actor will be Xander Mobus, which is another surprise as he is well-known as being the announcer for the Smash Bros. games.

Here's the complete list of voice actors and their characters;

Xander Mobus: Protagonist

Cassandra Morris: Morgana

Max Mittelman: Ryuji Sakamoto

Erika Harlacher: Ann Takamaki

Matt Mercer: Yusuke Kitagawa

Cherami Leigh: Makoto Niijima

Erica Lindbeck: Futaba Sakura

Xanthe Huynh: Haru Okumura

Robbie Daymond: Goro Akechi
