Year 1995 is remembered for the EPIC romantic saga that is Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge. The film turned Shah Rukh Khan into a global phenomenon. It's been more than twenty years and the film is still running in a theatre in Mumbai. Shah Rukh Khan though was doing path breaking roles but this film introduced us to a metro-sexual character. Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol catapulted to stardom after this film. They bacame the top stars of Bollywood. But the lesser known fact is DDLJ, as it's known as popularly, was not the only Shah Rukh Khan film to release in 1995. In fact he had not one, two but seven Bollywood releases. Yes, when talk about the year 1995 we just talk about DDLJ or even Karan Arjun for that matter. So let's take a look at six other Shah Rukh Khan films that were released in 1995 and were over-shadowed by the super success of DDLJ. This film is remembered to bring together, then young actors and now two of the biggest superstars of Indian Cinema, Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan. The film is also known as one of the few films to showcase re-incarnation successfully on screen. The film was a blockbuster at the box office.

#Zamaana Deewana

A veteran of films like Sholay, Shaan and Saagar, Ramesh Sippy directed this disaster of a film. The film was a non-starter from the day one. This was the only film where Raveena Tandon was starred opposite Shah Rukh Khan and the fact that they weren't casted together ever again says a lot about the film. Also it's been almost twenty years and Ramesh Sippy is yet to direct another film.

#Guddu

Another disaster for Shah Rukh Khan in the same year where he delivered one of the biggest blockbusters of Indian Cinema. This film had it all, bad acting, bad storyline, bad execution and also a bald Shah Rukh Khan. Manisha Koirala starred alongside Shah Rukh Khan here and their chemistry was bland.

#Oh Darling! Yeh Hai India

Shah Rukh Khan had two releases on the same day and both the films had disastrous result. The film, a satirical one was more of an experiment than a normal commercial film. The film was praised by few critics though but it was again a disaster. Can you imagine two movies of Shah Rukh Khan releasing on the same day and both were disasters!

#Ram Jaane

This forgettable flick of Shah Rukh Khan was released alongside Aamir Khan starrer Akele Hum Akele Tum. And the lesser known fact is, it was Ram Jaane that was a success over Akele Hum Akele Tum. This film had a good storyline and actually was a good watch with a message towards the end.

#Trimurti

This, at that time, was one of the biggest casting coupe of sorts. Jackie Shroff, Anil Kapoor and Shah Rukh Khan, playing brothers in a movie, a film backed by showman Subhash Ghai, directed by Mukul Anand (a veteran of Agneepath, Hum and Khuda Gawah), a creepy villain, chartbuster tracks, the film had it all, except, the execution! The film was the first in Indian Cinema to mark a Rs 1 crore opening day and after a record breaking weekend, the film went a downhill road there after. The final verdict of the film was flop.

After giving two blockbusters, one average and four disasters in a single year. 1995 is still remembered for DDLJ and Karan Arjun because those were the days when films used to have a longer run at the box office, so for Shah Rukh Khan, year started with Karan Arjun, the film went on to do well at the box office and by the time its run came to an end he had DDLJ up for release which, as we all know, is still running. So his flops were overshadowed by his two blockbusters. Lucky!
