Bogor (ANTARA News) - Publicly listed cement producing company PT Indocement Tunggal Perkasa inaugurated the operation of its Plant 14, which has a capacity of 4.4 million tons per year, in Citeureup, West Java.

"Following the opening of Plant 14, the production capacity of cement from Indocement will increase by 24.9 million tons per year," company President Director Christian Kartawijaya remarked in his opening address.

He explained that Plant 14 has energy-efficient modern equipment, as it uses alternative fuel and raw materials.

"Plant 14 has the most sophisticated emission system and environmentally friendly production capacity with "bag filter" to trap dust," he said.

According to him, the construction of Plant 14 took at least three years, with all the funds for the project coming the companys internal funds.

He said that the construction of Plant 14 began with the signing of contract on March 23, 2013, between Indocement and Chinas Tianjin Cement Industry Design and Research Institute Co. and Sinoma Engineering Indonesia Ltd., with Construction Engineering Procurement (EPC) as the partner in the construction phase.

Present at the inauguration ceremony on Thursday were Industry Minister Erlangga Hartarto, West Java Deputy Governor Deddy Mizwar, Bogor District Head Nurhayati and Indocement commissioners and directors.
