Seems Sarah Jessica Parker’s voice just didn’t fit.

The ‘Sex and the City’ star has revealed to Howard Stern that she has been fired from not one, but two animated movies.

The two movies were… drum roll please… ‘Antz’ and ‘Home On The Range’, though she refers to the latter as ‘At Close Range’, so perhaps persistently getting the name of the film wrong might have been the reason for that P45.

“I was fired from ‘Antz’,” she said. “That animated movie. I can’t remember which movie fired me first, but the first time they were like ‘we’re going in a different direction’, which I’d always heard as, like, a joke.

“I did many sessions for both of these movies. But then they brought in Sharon Stone, and I was like ‘oh, you really did go a different [direction]! She was like ‘old movie star vixen’.

“What was upsetting was that the week before they fired me, they called me to tell me how great I was! Which I felt like was a set-up. But I think they meant it at that time… I’ve had no success playing an animal.”

“I heard Sharon Stone lived among ants,” Stern jokingly replies. “That’s how she got the part, which you weren’t willing to commit to. She’s a regular Daniel Day-Lewis.”

The firing came at a pretty bad time, however, as she and husband Matthew Broderick were about to buy a new home.

“We were looking for an apartment to buy and then I got a call and they’re like ‘Hey listen’ and I was like ‘I can’t believe I’m about to purchase a home’,” she revealed.

But while ‘Antz’, which featured Woody Allen, Gene Hackman and eventually Sharon Stone as Princess Bala, was decent, ‘Home On The Range’ was considerably more ‘ill-fated’.

Starring Roseanne Barr, Judi Dench and Cuba Gooding Jr, it was a box office bomb, making barely over $100 million (it cost $110 million).

So consider that a bovine bullet dodged.
